2024 Grad Awards
Clarence Ramsay & Brad Clark Lasting Impact Award
Clarence Ramsay and Brad Clark, both former school bus drivers, shepherded students to and from schools in Prince County. Their kindness and respect for all students left a lasting impact on many. This award, given in their honour, is presented to an outstanding individual who is kind, caring, compassionate, respectful and who goes above and beyond to help others.
2024 Graduate Recipient - Deirdre Studer
Michael Buley Scholastic Award for the Most Outstanding Success in Mathematics
Michael Buley, a former mathematics teacher, helped students develop a love of numbers and inspired many to pursue scientific careers. This award, given in honour of Mr. Buley, is presented to the student with the highest standing in MAT 611B.
2024 Graduate Recipient - Ava Pomeroy
Gerald MacCormack & Arnold Driscoll Scholastic Award for Most Outstanding Success in Physics
Gerald MacCormack and Arnold Driscoll, both former physics teachers, inspired students to look at the world with physics-covered eyes and motivated many to pursue careers in the physical sciences. This award, given in their honour, is presented to the student with the highest standing in PHY 621A.
2024 Graduate Recipient - Salem Austin
Arlyn Leard & Blair Arsenault Scholastic Award for the Most Outstanding Success in English
Arlyn Leard and Blair Arsenault, both former English teachers, expanded students’ worldview while simultaneously helping them develop critical analysis and interpretation skills key to many future careers. This award, given in their honour, is presented to the student with the highest standing in ENG 611X.
2024 Graduate Recipient - Elizabeth Smith
Melissa McNeill MacDonald Athletic Award
This bursary was created in memory of Melissa McNeill MacDonald, to honor her passion for field hockey, her love of sport, and her dedication to give back to her school and community. This award is given to someone who is a good all-around student who gives back to their school and community and is a friend to all- all the great traits Melissa had.
2024 Graduate Recipient - Kate-Grace Noye
Carolyn Rowe-Turner Integrity and Athletic Excellence Award
The Carolyn Rowe-Turner Integrity and Athletic Excellence Award is supported by the many people who knew her in various ways. Carolyn was an educator, an athlete, and a humanitarian. She gave so much to so many without the need or the desire to be recognized. She was the epitome of serving others. The support she gave to her students, colleagues and friends to reach their desired goals was genuine and selfless. Above all else was her love of John and her 3 boys Owen, Finn and Charlie. We lost Carolyn too early in life, but this is a small appreciation for what she gave to so many people.
2024 Graduate Recipient - Deirdre Studer
Daniel Barrett Memorial Bursary
This award was established to remember the accomplished life of Daniel Barrett. Daniel graduated from TOSH in 2001, and went on to complete a BSC from Dalhousie University in 2005. Daniel was a well-liked, kind hearted Three Oaks Senior High student who valued and believed in the balance between scholastics, sports and true friendships at TOSH. This young man is fondly remembered by those who were touched by his kindness, and his ability to show to all who knew him.
2024 Graduate Recipient - Clark Gallant
Garth Turtle Memorial Bursary
For decades Garth Turtle played a large role in the development of TOSH athletes on and off the court and field. He spent a large part of his career as a teacher, athletic director, and coach at Three Oaks. His family wants to acknowledge his dedication and passion for student athletes at Three Oaks with this award.

Since 1983, Arsenault Bros. has been building a reputation across Atlantic Canada as a leader in the construction industry. This award, given in their honour, is presented to an outstanding individual who is kind, caring, humble, shows leadership skills, is of good character and who is pursuing a career in Carpentry.

The Medicine Shoppe Pharmacy Bursary
Jill Kelly-Waugh, Pharmacist/Owner and Thomas Waugh, Principal, both TOSH Alumni are pleased to offer this bursary to a deserving student who is a leader amongst peers in and out of school. Both academic student-athletes and school and community leaders during their years at TOSH, have carried forward this commitment to health and community involvement into their lives and careers. In this vein, they are pleased to offer recognition and assistance to a graduating student continuing to post-secondary education with the Medicine Shoppe Bursary.

Owen Hann “Keeping Music Alive” Memorial Bursary
Owen Hann suddenly passed away on December 25th, 2022. This left a huge void in his family and in the community. Owen’s son, Nick wanted to do something in his honor. The first “Owen Hann Keeping Music Alive” memorial tribute was held to honor Owen, as well as raise funds to help keep music alive and well. Owen was a selfless, caring and giving family man as well as a very talented musician and a staple in the PEI music community. Knowing his contributions will live on and help young people pursue their goals in music would make him very proud.

Helen Glen Memorial Award for Music
In order to qualify, a recipient must be of good scholastic standing, have been a member of TOSH Band for all high school years spent at TOSH, have taken music as an elective subject during all high school years at TOSH, be entering a post-secondary music education program after graduation from TOSH; have shown initiative in his/her participation in music, have worked cooperatively with his/her peers and with school staff, and have demonstrated dedication to the program.

Arthur and Melissa MacDowell Memorial Scholarship
Applicant must have been born in PEI, be a resident of the city of Summerside or immediate surrounding areas, be a strong academic student who carries an average above 80% and have shown a conscientious effort during high school. This scholarship has been established by Mrs. Gertrude Mallard of Toronto, Ontario in memory of her parents, Arthur and Melissa MacDowell, who were residents of Summerside, Prince Edward Island for many years. Arthur MacDowell was born in Summerside and was well known in mercantile circles in Prince County and a member of Oddfellows Lodge for 60 years. Melissa MacDowell was a great supporter of Trinity United Church in Summerside. Mrs. Mallard commemorates the lives of her parents in establishing this award.

This award recognizes a student pursuing engineering at a post-secondary institution. Engineers have a positive impact on today's society as they help improve communities and the environment. Through the introduction of this award, Curran and Briggs, together with Three Oaks Graduation Committee, would like to emphasize and recognize the importance of this profession.

Curran & Briggs Scholarship Award for Volunteerism in Community & School
This award has been established to recognize students who contribute to community and school life through sharing their time, energy and leadership. Volunteering is a selfless act intended to promote good and improve human quality of life. Volunteering benefits our students through development of interpersonal skills, making contact with prospective employers, and knowing and promoting our community in positive ways. Curran and Briggs and Three Oaks Senior High School Graduation Committee, honor youth volunteers and emphasize the importance of respect and good guardianship, as well as devotion to the welfare of others.

John Callbeck Memorial Award - (students studying at university, community college or a private institution will be given equal consideration).
This award is in memory of John Callbeck, a Three Oaks Grad of 1984. John died in a tragic accident in 1995 and prior to this was involved in carrying on the Callbeck family business. The award is for a deserving graduating student who will be pursuing post-secondary education in the field of Business or Retail Management.

Bursary to be awarded to a graduating student who is entering the nursing profession and who exhibits the qualities of devotion, dedication, and sincerity which Miss Williams possessed in abundance.

Awarded to a graduating student who is of good moral character and standing, displays aptitude toward higher learning, has shown diligence in their learning throughout his/her high school career, and who is pursuing post-secondary studies at an accredited institution.

St. Eleanor’s Lions and Lioness Club Bursary
This bursary is to recognize a graduating student who has done things for others without pay - volunteered - during their high school years. The volunteer activity may have been in the student’s community, church, school, a service organization, hospital, manor or other venue. The student must be going on to post-secondary studies at a college or university and have academic standing commensurate to probable success in his/her chosen program.

The Huestis Insurance Group Annual Bursary
The Huestis Insurance Group Bursary was introduced in 2007 by the company’s Board Chairman, David Huestis. It is awarded annually to a full-time student entering an undergraduate or postgraduate degree or certification-granting institution in their first year of studies. The bursary is awarded based on the school’s recommendation and on the following basis: financial, academic, other interests. The Huestis Insurance Group currently presents $500 awards to schools located in the general vicinity of our 40 locations throughout the Maritimes.

Lest We Forget Honorary Grad Diploma
This award has been developed to pay respect and honor to our local veterans who have served for our Nation. The Honorary Grad Diploma was initiated in 2007. The Lest We Forget Committee has joined forces with TOSH in 2022 to continue this tradition of paying respect to our veterans by creating a bursary that students can apply for. Each year a veteran will be chosen to have their name attached to this award.

David Roland Voye Memorial Bursary
The recipient must have been a committed and dedicated member of the Three Oaks Senior High School Concert Band and/or the Three Oaks Senior High School R & B Band in which he or she participated. As well the recipient must show excellence in musicianship;excellence and competence in the playing of an instrument or instruments and must have contributed in an outstanding manner to the life and spirit of the band in which he or she participate;

Mary’s University graduate who passed away suddenly in 2013. Josh was an avid outdoorsman,
a health and sports enthusiast and loved to travel. Above all, Josh was a great friends to many
people, enjoying, cherishing and sharing the pleasures of music, conversation, and a good cup
of coffee.

TJ Myers Bursary
The T.J. Myers Bursary is in memory of the “inspiring” life of T.J. (Todd) Myers. T.J. was born with Spina Bifida in 1985; each day he was faced with a new obstacle which he welcomed with a smile and positive attitude. T.J. graduated from TOSH in 2005 and had hopes of someday continuing his education in the automotive field. T.J. loved his family, spending time with his friends and his passion for fast cars was no secret. T.J. will be remembered for his resilient, grateful spirit as well as his “Live for today and enjoy every moment” attitude.

Rotary Club of Summerside Strive Scholarship
The Rotary Club of Summerside Scholarship program recognizes the need for scholarship awards in all areas and have created a scholarship program aimed at those who are struggling in “life” due to any variety of reasons such as medical, personal or family issues present yet they “strive” to maintain or further their education despite the obstacles they face.

PEI Mutual Education Trust Fund Centennial Scholarship
Our scholarship program is administered through the Island high school system. In mid-April of each year, we send out application forms to each of the Island high schools, who in turn put together a selection committee and choose the winning candidate(s). The two main criteria to be used in selecting winning candidates are financial need and academic performance.

PEI Fishermen’s Association Bursary
There will be two bursaries awarded to two students from each fishing local for a total of twelve bursaries. Recipients must be related to a member of the Prince Edward Island Fishermen’s Association and must have graduated from a Prince Edward Island high school and be accepted as first-year students in an accredited post-secondary institution.

Consolidated Credit Union Scholarship awards are presented to members, or a member’s dependent, of the Consolidated Credit Union.
