MEETINGS:

SPORTS: 

  • Softball - players pls check Google Classroom for all practice and game info.

 

  • The Ball Hockey team are to have forms and fees paid today by 3:15pm to Mr. Arsenault in the gym office.

First league game is tonight in Kensington beginning at 5pm. Players are asked to be at the facility for 4:30pm.

 

  • AAAM flag footballPractice tonight at the turf 5:00-6:30

 

  • Voye tournament - May 9/10 – Looking for volunteers for bbq/results etc – sign up in the gym hallway.

 

ARTS:

  • Arts & Crafts Sale.  The Art Dept will be having a sale with all proceeds going to Relay for Life.  We need art and crafts to sell!  Donations of any sort are welcome and will be collected until May 9.  Items don’t have to be new or made by art students.  Bring art to room 505 as soon as possible.

 

MAIN OFFICE:

  • A jacket was turn into the office last week. If it is yours, you can identify it in the main office.

 

GENERAL:

  • Note to staff and students – The Library will be CLOSED for the DELF from May 5th to May 9th.

 

  • Job Opportunity - The Summerside Rotary Library is hiring a Summer Student to help coordinate the 2025 TD Summer Reading Club at the Summerside Rotary Library. The person will organize, create, and deliver programs and activities to children and families.   • Job Opportunity - Kensington Area Soccer Club is looking for a summer student.  The ideal candidate for this role has soccer experience, both as a player or a coach, and who is energetic, self-motivated, enthusiastic, dependable, and enjoys working with young players.  If you are interested, please see Mrs. Peters in 806.

  • Steps to Success - had to move their session to Tuesday, May 6 at lunch in the Lecture Theatre. This information session is for those interested in an alternate path to being employed in Early Childhood Education.

 

  • We are honoured to celebrate cancer survivors and those battling cancer once again at our annual Three Oaks Senior High Relay for Life Survivor Reception.  Reception will be held Friday, May 23 at 10:45 with food, music and survivor lap to follow.  Please RSVP at 902-888-8460 or sddunphy@edu.pe.ca.  Survivors are welcome to attend with a partner. Please let anyone know that you think would like to take part and have them contact the school.

 

  • A reminder that the lunches outside of the office have been ordered and in a lot of cases purchased by students and or their families. If your name is not on a lunch, do not take it.  If you are hungry and require a lunch, or if you would like to order from this program please see us in student services or the office.     • Relay for Life - The EAL Relay For Life Team is selling tickets for their exciting Gift Card Bonanza Raffle outside room 234 each day during lunch.

    • 1 ticket for $5
    • 3 tickets for $10

The grand prize is valued at over $650.00 in gift cards and merchandise. A limited amount of people will receive a BOGO ice cream coupon for Kool Breeze Ice Cream Bar. Draw will be held May 21st. 

  • Relay for Life - Pop-up Thrift StoreThere will be a pop-up thrift store on May 9th & 10th in support of Relay for Life. There will be collection days on May 6th & 7th from 8-8:45 and 3:30 – 4:30. If you are wanting to donate. We are asking that you don’t donate any appliances, child safety gear, electronics, and furniture. All the money from the Thrift Store will go directly to Relay For Life and the Canadian Cancer Society.

  • Saint Mary’s University First Year Course Registration Assistance – A representative from SMU will be visiting TOSH TODAY during the lunch break to provide a hands-on session where they will guide students through the course registration process. Saint Mary's University staff will give a brief overview of the registration process and then assist students in building their course schedules for both the Fall and Winter terms.

 

  • TOSH 2025 Grad Classroom – Graduates are reminded to keep a regular check on the grad classroom as information is beginning to get posted daily with scholarship, bursary and award opportunities as well as important post-secondary details and updates!

 

Monday Tip:

This week is Mental Health Awareness Week. Today's tip is about sleep. Teenagers are recommended to get between 8 and 10 hours of sleep each night for their wellbeing. Sleep benefits and brain. It promotes attention, memory, and creative thinking. Sleep deprived teens are more likely to report feelings of anxiety and depression. Some sleep tips include:

Budgeting enough time for sleep, creating a consistent pre-bed routine, avoiding caffeine especially in the afternoon and evening, putting away electronic devices at least 30 minutes before bed and setting them to silent, and keeping your bedroom dark and cool. Source: sleepfoundation.org
