MEETINGS:

  • French Fanatics Relay Team - short meeting today at 11:45 in Room 410. 

 

SPORTS: 

  • AAA rugby players - Are reminded to pick up early dismissals in Gym hallway form maze

 

  • Ball Hockey - practice today at 3:30pm – 4:45pm.

  • Voye tournament - May 9/10 – Looking for volunteers for bbq/results etc – sign up in the gym hallway.

 

ARTS:

  • Henna - Relay for Life is offering henna Today and Friday at lunch – cost is $1.00

 

  • Arts & Crafts Sale.  The Art Dept will be having a sale with all proceeds going to Relay for Life.  We need art and crafts to sell!  Donations of any sort are welcome and will be collected until May 9.  Items don’t have to be new or made by art students.  Bring art to room 505 as soon as possible.

MUSIC:

  • Music for Life

TOSH Relay for Life and TOSH Music will be hosting a showcase of student musicians in the black-box theatre on Thursday, May 15, at 6:30 pm. Admission by donation, with all proceeds going to support fundraising efforts for Relay for Life. Students who wish to perform may sign up on the music room door, noting the information Ms. Bryson has posted. Ms. Bryson will review the list and confirm performances at the end of the day on Friday, May 9.  Deadline to sign up is Friday at 11:30 am.

  • TOSH Cares: Student volunteers needed after school Today. Construction, painting and gardening tasks. Meet in the outdoor cafeteria at 3:25. Your hours count for the Community Service Bursary. 

 

  • Is your room messy? Closet full of clothes you never wear?  Donate your extras to the Relay for Life Thrift Sale! Today is the last day to drop off items to the gym area. The Thrift Sale is Friday after school and Saturday morning in the black box theatre.

 

  • Note to staff and students – The Library will be CLOSED for the DELF from May 8th & May 9th.

 

  • Job Opportunity - The Summerside Rotary Library is hiring a Summer Student to help coordinate the 2025 TD Summer Reading Club at the Summerside Rotary Library. The person will organize, create, and deliver programs and activities to children and families.   • We are honoured to celebrate cancer survivors and those battling cancer once again at our annual Three Oaks Senior High Relay for Life Survivor Reception.  Reception will be held Friday, May 23 at 10:45 with food, music and survivor lap to follow.  Please RSVP at 902-888-8460 or sddunphy@edu.pe.ca.  Survivors are welcome to attend with a partner. Please let anyone know that you think would like to take part and have them contact the school.

 

STUDENT SERVICES:

Many Universities host camps in the summer for students of a variety of ages. UBC would like you to know that they have camps for Indigenous Youth

  2. UBC Summer Science Camp (Grades 9-10 and 11-12)

 

Gift Card Bonanza Raffle - The EAL Relay For Life Team is selling tickets for their exciting Gift Card Bonanza Raffle outside room 234 each day during lunch. 

    • Ticket Prices:
    • 1 ticket for $5
    • 3 tickets for $10

The grand prize is valued at over $650.00 in gift cards and merchandise. A limited amount of people will receive a BOGO ice cream coupon for Kool Breeze Ice Cream Bar. Draw will be held May 21st. 

  • Pop-up Thrift Store There will be a pop-up thrift store on May 9th & 10th in support of Relay for Life. There will be collection days on TODAY from 8-8:45 and 3:30 – 4:30. If you are wanting to donate. We are asking that you don’t donate any appliances, child safety gear, electronics, and furniture. All the money from the Thrift Store will go directly to Relay For Life and the Canadian Cancer Society.

Mental Health TIP:

As part of Mental Health week, her is another tip:

Physical activity maintains a healthy body and also improves your mental health. Research has shown that exercise is one of the most effective tools to manage mental health issues like anxiety and depression. Physical activity is a natural stress reliever and, when you exercise, your body releases feel-good chemicals called endorphins. Also, levels of cortisol, a hormone released during stress, can be reduced through regular exercise and feelings of anxiety can be reduced. Some benefits of exercise:

  • Reduce stress and anxiety
  • Improve mood
  • Boost self-esteem
  • Reduce symptoms of depression
  • Improve cognitive function

OVERDUE STUDENT FEES:

  • Any students who have not yet paid their student fee, could you please remember to do so at your earliest convenience.

MAIN OFFICE:

  • A jacket was turn into the office last week. If it is yours, you can identify it in the main office.

 

  • A reminder that the lunches outside of the office have been ordered and in a lot of cases purchased by students and or their families. If your name is not on a lunch, do not take it.  If you are hungry and require a lunch, or if you would like to order from this program please see us in student services or the office.
