MEETINGS:

 

  • Marine Science ADP – Meeting Wednesday, April 22 starting at 11:50 in Room 506.  All members please attend to get important information on the Dalhousie trip and Huntsman Marine Science Center trip.  It is important for all students attending these activities to get their names on the lists to confirm numbers.

 

  • Envirothon – Teams attending the New Brunswick Envirothon meet this week on TODAY and Thursday starting at 3:25 in Room 506.  All members should be participating in the team preparations.

 

 

SPORTS/GYM:

 

  • See Mr. A – Reid Warrick, Gavin Hogan, Cameron MacDonald, Jake Campbell.

 

  • AAA ball hockey- Anyone seeking to try out for the AAA ball hockey team must sign up in the gym.

tryouts are scheduled for TODAY and April 22. Both sessions are starting at 3:30 to 5:00 in the gym. Potential players must have gym shoes, gym wear, gloves, and helmets. 

 

  • There will be a Women’s softball Try out Wednesday 6:30-7:45.

 

  • Voye rugby tournament – Looking for volunteers.  May 8 and 9 weekend.  Sign up in gym hallway.

BAND:

  • Vocal Ensemble -There won't be any Vocal Ensemble rehearsal this week since Mrs. Caseley Smith is on the band trip. Next week, there will be two rehearsals: Thursday, April 30 at 3:20 pm and Friday, May 1 at 7:45 am.

 

  • There will be no band rehearsals for Grade 10 students this week.

 

STUDENT SERVICES/GRAD INFO:

  • Grant available for students enrolling with Safe Driver’s PEI:

students from Baltic, Darnley, Hamilton, Indian River, Malpeque, Sea View and Spring Valley are eligible to receive 50% of the cost of their drivers Ed program paid for by the municipality.  Applications and information can be found on our website at www.malpequebay.ca

 

  • The Rotary Youth Leadership Awards Program (RYLA) is one of the most successful Rotary programs run by Rotary clubs around the world. District 7815 RYLA is a fun and intensive training program designed for teens (15-19 years of age) to inspire leadership and provide them with the skills to complete their goals.

What are the benefits of RYLA?

RYLA allows you the opportunity to build your problem solving and communication skills, discover strategies for becoming a dynamic leader in your school or community, explore career paths, share ideas and experiences with your peers, coordinate youth activities and/or community service projects and discuss creative approaches for resolving family, social, and professional conflicts.

Through RYLA, Rotary District 7815 aims to:

*Provide young leaders the opportunity to collaborate in a supportive environment to gain a better understanding of their own and others’ strengths, unique qualities, and abilities.

*Facilitate workshops about teamwork, communication, and motivation to develop the leadership skills Demonstrate Rotary's commitment to youth development and growth.

 

When and where is RYLA held?

Rotary District 7815’s RYLA 2026 will be held at Nova Scotia Community College (NSCC) in Truro, NS on May 15th & 16th.

*** Interested applicants can contact me (Mr. Hockin) to inquire about more information and to receive a registration form. Successful applicants will have their trip covered by the Rotary Club of Summerside.

 

 

  • Royal Canadian Legion Branch #5 Educational Bursary - Applications are now available in the Student Services office. Due Date: May 31, 2026
    *Applications are to be returned to Summerside Legion by the due date.

 

  • Rural Municipality of Miscouche Resident Bursary – Applications are now available in Student Services. Due Date: April 24, 2026
