MEETINGS:

 

  • Grade 10 band students please meet in the band room today at 12:00 for a quick meeting about the trip to Mount Allison next Friday.

 

 

SPORTS/GYM:

 

  • The gym will be closed at lunch for game changers. 

 

  • AAAM ball hockey practice TODAY and Thursday this week beginning at 3:30pm sharp.

 

  • AAAM rugby – 3:30-5:30

 

  • AW rugby + non travelling AAA players – 3:30 TO 5:30

 

  • Softball - Athletes are asked to join google classroom to stay up to date if they have not done so already ahieybmi.

RELAY FOR LIFE:

  • Relay for LifeThe event is being held the afternoon or May 22 at TOSH. The cost is $20 to register and gives you your Relay T-Shirt, Luminary, and food items at the event. This money also goes towards our goal of raising $30 000 for the Canadian Cancer Society. Registration fees can be paid online when you register, in person at the Relay table on Tuesday and Thursday of this week, or through e-transferring toshrelayforlife@gmail.com (please include your name).

 

  • Cancer survivors are invited to a reception May 22 at 10:30 am (10:45-11:45). Please register by contacting Shelby Burns at: shelbyburns3101@gmail.com

 

GENERAL:

  • World War I - Exhibit until Thursday (April 30th)

In the library you will find a display table featuring artifacts, flags, photos, and other interesting items from the First World War (1914–1918).

Please take a moment to stop by and have a look! As always, we kindly remind you to handle the artifacts with care and respect. For more information, see Mme Cormier.

BAND:

  • Vocal Ensemble - The TOSH Vocal Ensemble will rehearse on Thursday, April 30 at 3:30 pm. All members are asked to attend rehearsal. If you aren't able to make it, please let Mrs. Caseley Smith know as soon as possible.

 

STUDENT SERVICES/GRAD INFO:

Pathways Program through Holland College - First Nation’s Students are invited to a meeting on Wednesday at 10:30 in the Lecture Theatre to learn more about the Pathways Program. This one-year certificate program was developed to address students' needs and labour force demands in three core areas: Applied SciencesIndustrial Technology and Trades, and Health Studies. The course options give flexibility in learning and the program leads to a work integrated learning placement. Up to five credits earned in the Pathway to College and Workplace Success program may be transferrable to programs in the core area of your choice.

***Any students who do not identify as First Nation’s Students who would also like to know more about this program can let Ms. DeCoste know in Student Services.

  • The Rotary Youth Leadership Awards Program (RYLA) is one of the most successful Rotary programs run by Rotary clubs around the world. District 7815 RYLA is a fun and intensive training program designed for teens (15-19 years of age) to inspire leadership and provide them with the skills to complete their goals.

What are the benefits of RYLA?

RYLA allows you the opportunity to build your problem solving and communication skills, discover strategies for becoming a dynamic leader in your school or community, explore career paths, share ideas and experiences with your peers, coordinate youth activities and/or community service projects and discuss creative approaches for resolving family, social, and professional conflicts.

Through RYLA, Rotary District 7815 aims to:

*Provide young leaders the opportunity to collaborate in a supportive environment to gain a better understanding of their own and others’ strengths, unique qualities, and abilities.

*Facilitate workshops about teamwork, communication, and motivation to develop the leadership skills Demonstrate Rotary's commitment to youth development and growth.

 

When and where is RYLA held?

Rotary District 7815’s RYLA 2026 will be held at Nova Scotia Community College (NSCC) in Truro, NS on May 15th & 16th.
